Pen to Print bring you this event in celebration of National Poetry Day and in support of World Mental Health Day

Please note this is a location based event at Dagenham Library

Eithne Cullen and Mary Walsh welcome you to this Open Mic event to celebrate Self-care and Wellbeing and belated National Poetry Day.

Self-care is a vital part of maintaining good mental and physical health and emotional wellbeing. Poetry has become much more than a form of expression – it’s one of the most important forms of self care.

With 10 open mic slots available for poets, pop along from 6.15pm to sign up if you’d like to perform or email pentoprint@lbbd.gov.uk in advance with your name and title of poem.

Pen to Print is a platform for emerging writers and poets, so for many, this will be the first time reading aloud to an audience. Come along to give them your support and encouragement!

United by their love of the spoken and written word, poetry and the creative process. Mary and Eithne often work as a team to bring events (like the famous writing retreat day), recording podcasts for Write On Audio from the Hay Festival and The London Library.

Eithne and Mary are regular volunteers for Pen to Print’s Write On Magazine and have participated in many workshops.

Join us at Dagenham Library for an evening of light-hearted entertainment and an opportunity to connect with like-minded people.

Suitable for anyone aged 18+ as there may be mild language!

If you have any accessibility requirements, please directly get in touch with us at pentoprint@lbbd.gov.uk

Booking is essential and you will be asked to present your booking confirmation upon arrival.

Pen to Print shall not be liable to attendees for any injury, loss or damage of or to personal equipment belonging to the attendees or any indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever arising out of the attenance of the event.

Pen to Print reserves the right to cancel, delay or postpone the event for any reason, including adverse weather conditions, an emergency situation or unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances out of its reasonable control. In such cases, the event organiser will endeavour to inform participants as quickly as is possible.
