Pen to Print and The London Library are joining forces for the forth year, to bring you a series of workshops designed to take you through different creative writing processes, including performance, poetry and graphic novel writing and how to fund your work. The workshops all take place at the atmospheric London Library and are open to aspiring writers in any genre.
This session, taught by Eithne Cullen will include a range of engaging poetry prompts inspired by the themes of light and dark and the arrival of spring. Participants will be guided through creative writing starters, draw inspiration from existing poetry, and explore imagery such as spring flowers and seasonal change. There will be time to write, reflect, and share work in a supportive environment, with opportunities to receive positive and constructive feedback. By the end of the session, attendees will have drafted new poems and gained fresh ideas to continue their writing beyond the workshop.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the sessions afterwards.
Eithne Cullen has been involved with Pen to Print for a number of years through competitions and as a regular contributor to Write On! magazine, where she is the page editor of the Thoughtful Tuesday page.
Eithne has had success with her own poetry and was crowned Poet Laureate of Plumstead in 2022. She has published two novels plus a poetry pamphlet supported by Pen to Print. Her poems and stories have appeared in magazines. She is currently the inaugural Poet Laureate of The Boathouse Studios.
The workshop will run from 11am to 1pm at the Library and all participants will receive a complimentary London Library day ticket (worth £30) so that you can continue writing or using the Library until it closes at 5.30pm. A guided tour of the Library will be on offer after the workshop for anyone who wants to explore. Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the workshop.
Pen to Print is an organisation established in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and operating within the borough’s library service.
