I Always Wanted To Be A Dad: Men Without Children for International Men’s Day

Please note this is a location based event at Dagenham Library

Unwanted childlessness is usually seen from the woman’s point of view, but many men would love to be a parent too. So, what happens when their dream doesn’t work out?

The unexpected loss experienced by men who do not become dads, for whatever reason, remains largely unacknowledged by society.

In this talk, based on the ground-breaking and searingly honest non-fiction book, I Always Wanted To Be A Dad: Men without Children, Robert Nurden examines the complexities of being a childless not by choice.

His own story is accompanied by the testimonies of other men who add their powerful voices to his, creating a sense of belonging and community.

Robert will take the audience through his own journey of pain and regret.
