Session 1 of 4

A series of Women’s Wellbeing Writing Retreat Workshops led by creative writing and acting tutor Serena B. Slack‑Robins that can be experienced in their entirety or as individual workshops.

Serena believes greatly in the power of creative writing as a tool for understanding ourselves better and promoting positive wellbeing. These sessions will explore examples of empowering texts from a range of inspiring female writers and theories, such as Brene Brown, Bell Hooks and Maya Angelou.

We can all be creative, and we can find our intuitive voice again. As our lives progress, quite often we lose our inner spark. These sessions will reawaken your creativity and voice in a safe and supportive environment.

The aim of these workshops is to equip participants with skills to manage stress, anxiety and low mental health. The sessions draw on a broad range of techniques and inspiration, including mindfulness, visualisation, breathing techniques, drama games, prose, poetry, song and comedy. Participants will leave each session with a sense of joy, friendship and a range of skills that they can try at home.
