Pen to Print bring you this event in support of Women’s Empowerment Month 2026
NB: This session can also be booked to attend in-person at Barking Learning Centre
We invite you for an afternoon of poetry, story and shared voices as we celebrate women through the timeless lenses of maidens, mothers and ‘crones.’
Led by poet, author and Write On! editor Madeleine F White, this special pre-launch event will feature readings from the forthcoming Maiden, Mother, Crone: The Anthology, alongside contributions from a small number of open-mic creatives.
This is a space to listen, to speak, and to be together with others who care about words and the lives behind them. Whether you come to read, to share, or simply to hear the work aloud, the afternoon offers a chance to honour women’s experience in all its stages and forms.
Expect an atmosphere of warmth, welcome and connection: a celebration of poetry, community and the many ways women’s stories are told beyond boundaries of gender, culture, class or geography.
Whether you’re a seasoned performer, a first-time poet, or a published author, this is your moment to shine, sharing extracts from your novel or poetry collection with a live audience.
We’re offering 10 performance slots and if you’d like to guarantee your place on stage, sign up now and email us at pentoprint@lbbd.gov.uk to confirm your spot.
If you are no longer able to attend a Pen to Print online event or have found yourself booking more than once for the same event – please use the ‘cancel my ticket’ option instead of ‘request a refund’ before the event is due. By doing so, an automatic refund will apply.
