We hope you enjoy!**Someone by Claire BussSomeone has eaten the last biscuitWithout permission and in blatant disregard of the rulesAll that is left are miniscule crumbsBut there is enough evidence to follow the cluesSuspect number one is the husbandHe grooms his moustache nervouslyBlatant denial is marred by his darting gazeLooking anywhere but at meThe children are brought in for questioningThe youngest seems very confusedToddler demands for biscuit, biscuit, biscuitAnd my line of enquiry swiftly breaks downI consult the theft timeline minutelyDetermining who else was at the scene of the crimeThe mother-in-law was away that dayThe pool of suspects has run dryCross examination and lie detection tests completeNo-one is changing their storyI boil the kettle in utter frustrationIt’s time for a cup of teaIt feels like forever since I last had a beverageIt was at least a quarter past nineI remember it clearly The last biscuit…HadBeen… mine.(c) Claire Buss ...
