We hope you enjoy!**Tired Of Life by Eithne CullenWhen a man is tired of London,he is tired of life, and when a womantires of convoluted routes and circuitous thoroughfares, she’s struggling, too. No grid, no regularity, this city is not laid out in lines and rectangles. It’s the biggest capital of them all, but the smallest city - a world in itself.Down lanes and over streaming river’s heart,over bridges to galleries and museumstalking London’s talk among the histories of far flung places and treasures gleaned by any means, seen fit, back then, to enshrine them here. To walk the streets likeBlake and Dickens, Doctor Johnson and the like; to see the house where Hendrix made his guitar sing, where John, Paul, George and Ringo lived under the same harmonious roof, for a while. Or cross the site of rookeriesunder the tall towers of modern bankswhere cut purses gathered and the police put out the story of the Ripper to put fear in them and he passed carrying a bloodied knife.When people tire of stories of matchgirls striking for their rights and women chained to railings shouting forthe vote - who tires, who blanches at the tales? Who will not pass to Berkley Square in hopes of seeing a nightingale? You would be tired of life if all this bored you, made you yawn, when it should enthral you. © Eithne Cullen, 2022 ...
