Thursday Connectors.
Thursday Connectors is all about you and your creativity!
Farzana Hakim, a long-term editor of this page, is the author of Sweethearts Of Ilford Lane and one of the first members of the Pen To Print alumni of writers and competition winners. A spokesperson for the south Asian community for a number of organisations, Write On! associate editor, Farzana, is passionate about helping other’s raise their voices and wants to use her page to give you a platform to share your views and your stories.
Farzana sees Thursday Connectors as a hub for sharing culture and heritage through the art of writing and welcomes writers of all backgrounds. Local to Barking and Dagenham, she has used her conviction that freedom and courage are at the heart of all our stories, to connect to people in over 100 countries, showcasing a culturally rich and diverse range of writing and featuring writers and non writers from age four to 90!
Farzana wants to share your stories, your thoughts and your ideas on issues and themes which are important and relevant to our communities and to you. With that in mind, submissions should be no longer than 800 words and, if possible, fit the themes announced on the homepage, in The Editor’s Introduction. Please also submit any images you have permission to use and that illustrate your work. If you’re happy to include social handles, these can be featured in the page copy. Write On! Extra accepts video and audio content. Please see the Submission Terms and Conditions for further details.
Writing gave Farzana a voice and a sense of empowerment, and through Thursday Connectors and her love for the written word, she wants to spread these sentiments to you, too. Submit now, remembering you don’t have to be restricted by the grammar police. Writing comes from the heart!
