Write On! Issue 15 OUT TODAY

Write On! 15 is out today: Themed Home, this issue features an exclusive interview with the seminal Jaspreet Kaur – award-winning spoken word artist, history teacher and author of the bestselling Brown Girl Like Me. She is interviewed by Goan teen, Diya Padiyar. The resulting discussion makes for a truly inspiring read!

Based on Home and sponsored by the Writers’ And Artists’ Yearbook, this issue theme straddles a number of things. ‘Keeping It Local’ on Michelle’s Sutton’s Spotlight Page, for example, shares some ideas of how to look for creative motivation on your doorstep. On the Insight page writing experts, Howard Linskey and Clare Cooper help us understand how to best use real names and places in our writing, as well as navigating those pesky tenses. The Big Debate explores social media, with a particular focus on how creatives can and should use it. Other pieces of work require us to determine what matters to us, so we can find our own, creative home. A great example of this is Destination Barking And Dagenham a feature that truly demonstrates how ‘home is where the heart is’.

This printed edition continues to be inspired by work featured in the online Write On! Extra and podcast Write On! Audio.

Write On! 16, themed Contradictions: Everything Has Two Sides, comes out on April 26. It will be featuring an exclusive with John O’Farrell: bestselling author, playwright and screenwriter of hits such as Chicken Run.
