The World’s Scars
by Jenny Gibson
Ask me again later
which number is greater:
All the world’s scars
or all the heavens’ stars?
With so much pain to hide,
there’s little reason to feel pride.
Through hot tears and hopeless sighs,
the planet’s temperature will rise.
Swallow down the poison of the seas,
it’s up to us to do as we please.
When did we cease to care
about the life given by a breath of air?
Ours is the path to pave,
ours is the earth to save.
