Every year as part of Black History Month Barking & Dagenham Council create a Hall of Fame to celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with African and Caribbean heritage in Barking and Dagenham. You can find last year’s Hall of Fame here: www.lbbd.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/annual-events/black-history-month This year, Barking & Dagenham Council are refreshing the list, updating the information and adding in some new people and organisations to celebrate. The Hall of Fame will be hosted on the council’s website and sharing some of the profiles on our social media. If you have any suggestions for anyone who could be included in the Hall of Fame, please send an email to CE-Strategy@lbbd.gov.uk with the following details:NameConnection to Barking and Dagenham (born here, current resident etc. )Description of achievement/impact (Keep the description to under 80 words.)Contact details (if possible, we’d like to have contact details for the person you are nominating, so that we can notify them that we will be featuring them)These submissions will then be reviewed by the Leader’s Office and the Cabinet member for Equalities to confirm the final content of the Hall of Fame. ...
